About Arjun
I’m a graduate student at MIT, and I’ve always loved problem-solving and learning new things. As a tutor, I’m patient, supportive, and focused on helping students build real confidence in challenging subjects. I enjoy tutoring because I love watching concepts finally “click” and seeing students become more independent learners. Outside of academics, I love playing piano, learning new languages, skiing, exploring national parks, playing chess, and relaxing with video games.

As a tutor, my approach is centered on clarity, intuition, and genuine understanding. I believe students learn best when complex ideas are broken down into simpler steps. I encourage asking questions and thinking aloud. My main goal as a tutor is to help build foundational problem skills so students can go on and tackle more difficult questions on their own. Typical lesson plan: 1. Check in, review progress and ask the student how they are doing. 2. Concept walkthrough: Explain a new topic using a mix of intuition, examples and formal methodology. 3. Practice questions: Go through a couple of guided practice problems then allow the student to try a question on their own. 4. Summarize lesson, assign homework problems, answer any questions the student might have. What sets me apart? As a graduate student at MIT and with a degree in computer science, I am familiar with the rigorous course loads, and the complex nature of problems that appear in CS, stats and math curriculums. I have previously been a college statistics TA as well as an independent math tutor for AP computer science and mathematics exams. I have also been an advising fellow for high school students applying to college, aiding in essay writing and standardized exam prep. Who are my lessons for? I primarily work with high school and college students. This includes: • High school algebra, precalculus, calculus, statistics, and AP courses • College-level math and statistics (up to intermediate/advanced coursework) • Introductory computer science and programming (Python) (and AP CSA exam) • SAT/ACT math preparation and general college-prep problem solving • College essay writing
