About Ben
Hi! I believe in encouraging students to explore and become self-sufficient by fostering curiosity, while strengthening their skills. Personally, my undergraduate education was in Engineering Technologies and led me to a career first in hardware and later my career has progressed towards software technologies. Still, I have a passion for tutoring and helping others develop, especially in the realm of computer science.
Personally, I love tutoring because of the flexibility it gives me. Often I travel extensively and therefore online tutoring is a great way for me to stay engaged. I also, enjoy being able to help others learn and am a lifelong learner myself. To me, tutoring is bi-directional and I often gain tremendous benefit from my students questions and perspective. It would be my joy to help you along your journey towards being a proficient developer.
I have been engaged with many of the features of both the language and the iOS framework it is so often used for. I understand Apple's language design philosophy, as well as necessary tools to become a proficient developer. In addition, through my background with computer science I know best practices for design and testing.

Primarily I have previous tutoring tutoring ranging from elementary all the way to the graduate level. I have taught a range of subjects and understand the vitality in tailor fitting lessons to each particular student based on their learning aptitudes. My previous tutoring has been both with students in the US, in addition to many international students, primarily from Asia. The subjects I have previously tutored include writing, science, and engineering. However, on this platform I hope to begin helping students learn Swift. I have been specializing in the cutting-edge framework of SwiftUI for iOS app development and if this is something you are interested in please let me know if I can help. Also, if you just want to learn fundamentals of programming, I would be happy to teach that as well in either Swift, Python, or C++.
