About Mason
Hi, I'm Mason, a first-year engineering student at Montana State University. Throughout high school, I took advanced math courses, scored a 4 on the AP Calculus BC exam, and graduated with a 4.0 unweighted GPA.
Personally, I've had to put in real effort to succeed in math. Many students believe people are born either good or bad at it, but I think that any student can become strong in math by learning the right skills and practicing. I'm excited to help students do that!

When I study, I focus on understanding core principles and why things work, rather than just memorizing steps. I also try to understand and work through problems first without help, as this helps prepare for exams and improves problem-solving skills. As a tutor, I'll apply these same principles that I have learned to not only help students succeed in their current classes, but also teach them the problem-solving techniques and study techniques that will benefit them in future courses.
In a lesson, we'll look over what you're currently working on and come up with a study plan. After that, you'll try problems on your own, and I'll guide you through them when you get stuck, until you are comfortable and confident working through them independently.
My tutoring is for students in various middle school and high school math courses including Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus AB.
