About Michael
I am the Percussion director for Zionsville Community HS and the IWU Marching Wildcats. My previous students have gone on to achieve many accolades such as gold ratings and perfect scores at state contests, state and national championships in marching band and indoor percussion, and earning placements through auditions in world-class ensembles and programs such as Indiana University, Eastman School of Music, DePauw University, Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps, Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps, Cap City Percussion, and Music City Mystique.

I have a degree in music from Indiana Wesleyan University and have been teaching percussion lessons for 10 years. I have been on the Percussion staff of multiple state championship winning bands and indoor percussion groups.
After we assess your current skill level I will develop a lesson plan to develop you through the learning and performing of music. Our primary focus will be on learning skills through musical repertoire, rather than only drilling technical exercises. Those studies have their place and we will certainly utilize them to isolate and train specific skills as we encounter them.
