About Samantha
Hi, I'm Samantha! Music theory is the subject where genuine confidence and thorough preparation make the most dramatic difference — and for 8 years my teaching goal has been exactly that for every student I work with. Whether a student is preparing for a school theory exam, an AP Music Theory assessment, a college entrance audition, or simply wants to understand music at a deeper level, I make it my personal mission to ensure they arrive at that moment feeling completely confident and genuinely prepared in every way.
I never rush through concepts or move forward until I am certain a student has genuinely mastered what we are working on. Real preparation means understanding deeply, not just recognizing something vaguely — and I hold that standard consistently in every lesson. I teach theory using real music that students love, making every concept feel immediately relevant and genuinely exciting rather than abstract and disconnected, and I build confidence steadily and deliberately by ensuring every new concept is solidly understood before the next one is introduced. Over 8 years I have helped students pass school and AP Music Theory exams with outstanding results, write and perform original compositions, develop fully orchestrated arrangements, and build a musical understanding that transformed everything about how they hear and create music. I was honored with a Music Theory Excellence Award by the Massachusetts Music Educators Association in 2024. My online one-to-one live lessons are thorough, clear, and completely dedicated to making you confident and fully prepared for every musical challenge ahead. Let's build your complete theory foundation together!
