About Sharnica

If you're looking for a friendly tutor who can provide you with advice, study and exam techniques as well as plenty of support to reach any of your goals, you’ve found one :)
I graduated high school with an ATAR of 99.65, which was a product of effective studying, mindset as well as a lot of hard work. Throughout my school experience, I've found some really effective ways to study, and I want to share those techniques and experiences with you too!

I achieved a raw 49 in VCE Biology and a raw 45 in VCE Chemistry, and am offering tutoring for VCE Biology and Chemistry 3/4 students.

My goals as a tutor are:

• To teach you in a way that is tailored to your personal learning styles and preferences
• To provide you with the study and exam strategies to reach your goals
• To really focus on your understanding and application of content, rather than prioritising memorisation
• To offer you support as well as motivation throughout your academic journey

In my lessons, I offer:

• In depth explanations of content as well as access to detailed notes and power points
• Tutoring that is tailored to your individual needs and goals as a student
• Insight into some effective study techniques to make learning enjoyable
• Detailed and honest feedback that will help you continually improve
• Exam and assessment techniques that you need to help you succeed at school
• Around the clock assistance with any questions you may have

I have had several years of experience as an assistant teacher (200+ hours!), working with students who are really struggling, as well as students who are excelling and want extra help to go above and beyond! So, you can count on me to be a friendly and knowledgeable tutor who ensures our lessons are efficient, very informative and a great support for your educational journey!

About the lesson

Teaching style:
I really focus on ensuring that my students understand the concepts in their subject, rather than just memorise it. I ensure I know my student's learning styles and preferred methods of studying so that I can tailor my classes to them! In my lessons, I focus not only on content but also have a big focus on questions and the application of knowledge, as well as detailed feedback and support so that my students can improve and obtain their goals!

Typical lesson length:
Usually, my lessons are 1 hour or 1.5 hours, but I am open to holding longer lessons as well depending on your preference.

Experience as a tutor:
* 2 years experience as an assistant classroom teacher, for students of Years 4 to 10
* Several months experience as a private tutor for both VCE level students and students of younger year levels

My lessons are for students of any year level. I have experience with VCE level subjects (VCE Chemistry, Biology and English) but also younger year levels so I am experienced and comfortable with any student!
