About Avrey
Yoga has been my greatest teacher since I was fifteen years old. What began as a physical practice gradually became a lifelong path of healing, self-discovery, and purpose. Through years of daily practice, yoga has transformed not only the way I move, but the way I understand myself and navigate the world.
Movement has always been central to my life. I grew up as a dancer, and today I continue to study both ballet, flamenco and somatics while teaching a wide variety of movement classes within my community.
My background in dance deeply influences the way I teach yoga; bringing creativity, body awareness, balance, and expression into every class.
As a Native woman, my cultural roots have profoundly shaped my relationship with yoga. I am continually exploring the connections I personally see between the values I was raised with and the teachings of Buddhism and yoga philosophy. While these traditions are distinct, both encourage me to cultivate mindfulness, respect for the natural world, humility, community, and a lifelong commitment to learning. This ongoing exploration has become an important part of both my personal practice and my teaching.

I believe yoga has the power to transform and enlighten the mind and body towards freedom. I love to teach and practice a wide range of movement for anyone to connect to the inner desires of the body. I am inspired by free flow movement and my classes are intentionally designed to help students build strength, improve mobility, calm the nervous system, and cultivate a deeper awareness of the mind-body connection.
As a Native woman, my perspective heavily shapes my practice of oneness with nature and those around us. My classes are inspired by my ongoing exploration of the wisdom shared across my cultural traditions, yoga philosophy, and Buddhist teachings.
Drawing from over a decade of personal practice, my background in ballet, flamenco, somatic dance and my experience using yoga as a tool for healing, I guide students through mindful movement that is both grounding and empowering.
