About Deidre
Hello, I’m Deidre! I am a native English speaker originally from Jamaica, and I have lived in the United States for 34 years. I hold an MBA in Project Management and have a professional background in business consulting and coaching.
Throughout my career, I have helped people understand new ideas, communicate clearly, build confidence, and reach important goals. Teaching English felt like a natural next step because strong communication skills can create opportunities for education, work, travel, and meaningful connections.
My experience as a consultant and coach has taught me how to listen carefully, explain information clearly, set practical goals, and adapt to each person’s needs. My Jamaican heritage and many years in the United States also give me a multicultural perspective and an appreciation for the different ways people use English.
I am patient, encouraging, organized, and dependable. I create a welcoming environment where students can ask questions, practise English, and learn from mistakes without feeling judged.
I look forward to helping you become a more confident English communicator.

My lessons are supportive, practical, and personalized to each student’s English level, interests, and goals. I use clear explanations, guided practice, real-life examples, conversation activities, and constructive feedback to help students improve their accuracy and confidence.
A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up and review, followed by the introduction of the day’s language focus. We then move into guided exercises and interactive practice before finishing with a recap, feedback, and a clear next step. Lessons may focus on conversational English, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading, listening, or business and professional communication.
What sets me apart is my background in business consulting, coaching, and personal development. I bring patience, encouragement, organization, and goal-focused support to every lesson. I aim to create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
