About Nicole

Hi, I'm Nicole! I'm a native Mandarin speaker originally from China, and I've had the wonderful opportunity to live, study and work across China, Singapore and Australia.

I'm currently based in Melbourne, where I work as a Chartered Accountant and business professional. I hold a Master's degree from the University of Melbourne and have extensive experience communicating with people from different cultural and professional backgrounds.

Having lived in different countries, I understand how challenging, and sometimes intimidating, it can be to communicate in another language. I believe the best way to learn a language is through real conversations, cultural exchange and plenty of practice.

I'm friendly, patient, open-minded and genuinely enjoy meeting people from different walks of life. I love sharing Chinese culture, everyday expressions and the little things that make Mandarin such a fascinating language.

Whether you're learning Mandarin for travel, work, relationships or simply personal interest, I'd love to help you become a more confident speaker.

My goal is simple: to make learning Mandarin feel less like studying and more like having an enjoyable conversation with a friend.

I look forward to meeting you!

About the lesson

Learn Mandarin Naturally – Speak with Confidence from Day One!

Want to speak Mandarin confidently without spending hours memorising textbooks? My lessons focus on real-life conversations, practical vocabulary and natural communication.

As a native Mandarin speaker who has lived and worked in China, Singapore and Australia, I understand the challenges of learning and communicating across different languages and cultures.

What you can expect:

Conversation-focused learning: Practise speaking Mandarin through relaxed, engaging conversations.

Real-life situations: Learn how to communicate when travelling, ordering food, shopping, making friends or working with Chinese speakers.

Personalised lessons: Each session is tailored to your interests, goals and current Mandarin level.

Pronunciation and tones: Improve your pronunciation, listening skills and confidence with natural corrections and guidance.

Culture and everyday expressions: Discover how Mandarin is actually spoken in daily life, beyond textbook phrases.

Lesson duration: Typically 60 minutes, with flexible options depending on your needs.

Who are my lessons for?

Adults of all levels, from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced learners who want to improve their conversational Mandarin.

My teaching style is friendly, patient and interactive. Think of it as having a conversation with a Chinese-speaking friend who helps you improve along the way!

Less memorising, more speaking. Let's make learning Mandarin enjoyable and practical!
