About Glaucia Rocha

I have been teaching Portuguese for foreigners since 2021 through online platforms, as well as offering in-person classes. Also, I have experience in teaching beginners, intermediary, and advanced levels of Portuguese students.
Besides, I have experience teaching English to Brazilians abroad. Then, I understand the nuances to learn a second language and its differences and similarities between English and Portuguese

About the lesson

I base the lessons on the individual's current understanding of Portuguese. And it will be inclusive of: both English and Portuguese, what to expect if you were to go to Brazil, common situations/phrases, college-level tutoring, and practice conversations in Portuguese. All of which I will adapt to the students' needs and interests. Besides, I have experience practicing activities with the student for the CELPE-BRAS test (Portuguese proficiency test).

She articulates very well, speaking very clearly and subtly taking note of each word I didn't understand or stumbled over in a way that is not at all distracting and was very helpful in retrospect. She came into class with a clear plan for what our lessons might look like and was very attentive and responsive to what I was interested in learning. I look forward to more classes with her!

Be able to make someone laugh in a foreign language is a sign of proficiency. Moreover, she is very clear about her goals, which is extremely helpful for a teacher's class planning. On top of doing video calls, she also custom makes worksheets to help you review the content you went over in class. I'm a beginner but between her tutoring and a program like Duolingo, I'm definitely seeing results

If you want a tutor that's willing to take the time to make sure you understand and is personable, then I definitely recommend Glaucia!
