I have been a math tutor all throughout high school and always helped my classmates understand the criteria. I always make sure the student understands the basics before moving on to more complicated problems, which is a helpful tool since students always try to take on the hardest problems first.

My teaching method is to get students in a relaxed state before taking on stressful studies. I usually request listening to soothing music before a tutoring session so that your brain is at ease before its time to put it to work. The student should also take the lead in these tutor sessions so that the tutor knows where the student is struggling. I like to create a bond with the students I tutor so they aren't too shy to tell me when they need help.
