About Lilja
I have a degree in Literature and English Language from the University of Northern Norway, with an additional year of in-depth study at the University of Northern Arizona in the United States. I also completed a year of creative writing at the Oslo School of the Arts and studied foreign language teaching in English at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim.
I can help you improve your English ability, whether for academic purposes, job opportunities or personal pleasure. With my knowledge of various teaching and learning strategies acquired in my studies, I am sure that I can help you with reading, writing, listening or speaking. My teaching methodology is based on communicative theory and is student-centered. Our classes will be adapted to you and what you are looking for, for this we will dedicate time to understand your language level, your interests and your reasons for learning in the first place, whether they are being able to read books in English, understanding your favorite series without dubbing or being able to hold long conversations with a native speaker. In short, my method is not to lecture you with theory, but to help you achieve the goals you set for yourself in a personalized and dynamic way.
We will work hand in hand through active tasks that I will design based on your level and your personal preferences. If your objective is to be able to communicate verbally, we will work with tasks designed for that purpose; if your objective is to increase your competence as a writer, we will work with tasks clearly designed for this purpose.
This form of teaching has been shown to be very successful for the development of communication and writing skills. My job is to make things easy for you and make you enjoy your learning process until you become an expert. With this method you will not study the language, you will learn the language.
