About Hy
Hi! I’m currently an Economics undergraduate at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and I enjoy helping students understand concepts that may initially seem difficult or confusing. Having gone through secondary school and pre-university education myself, I understand how overwhelming certain topics can feel, especially when preparing for examinations.
I believe that learning becomes much easier when concepts are explained clearly and step by step, rather than relying purely on memorization. This is the approach I hope to bring to my students.
I’m patient and approachable, and I encourage students to ask questions whenever they are unsure. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build their confidence and develop a stronger understanding of the subject so that they can eventually solve problems independently.

My lessons are mainly conducted online and typically last between 1.5 to 2 hours. I welcome secondary school to A-Level students and will tailor each lesson according to the student’s level, learning pace and areas of difficulty.
My teaching approach focuses on helping students understand the concepts and reasoning behind each topic rather than simply memorising answers. I will explain difficult concepts in simple and relatable terms before applying them to practice questions and exam-style problems.
Lessons can also be adjusted depending on the student’s needs, whether they require help with specific topics, homework, exam preparation or strengthening their overall foundation. My aim is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel free to ask questions and gradually become more confident in solving problems independently.
