About AJ
I'm a NYC-based music teacher who holds a Master's in Music from New York University. I have been teaching in-person and online lessons for more than 4 years, and I have been playing, performing, and composing for 17 years.
I am passionate about teaching music to students and guiding them to find their own love and passion for their instrument, whether my students want to pursue music professionally or just pick it up as a hobby. Even while earning my Master's in Music from New York University, I have kept teaching music lessons to continue helping my students succeed in their musical goals, prepare for performances, and find love for their instrument.
I am excited to expand my lesson studio and guide more students to learn a new instrument and craft, and help them discover what they are capable of!

I take pride in curating each lesson to the student's interests and goals, whether that is to prepare for an audition or recital, learn how to play their favorite pop songs or video game songs, or overall just try out a new hobby. Every lesson is planned around what the student wants from their music lessons, and no matter your point in your musical journey, my lessons are always a space for you to engage at your own pace and comfort. Students are allowed to freely ask questions, request new songs/pieces to learn, and suggest changes to their lesson goals and itineraries.
As your teacher, I come prepared to each lesson with sheet music that you are interested in learning; exercises that will strengthen your abilities for the next level; musical advice backed by 17 years of playing experience, 4 years of teaching experience, and a Master's degree in music from New York University; and a mindset focused on how each unique student can find success in their lessons.
I have 4 years of experience teaching in-person and online lessons to K-12 students and adult learners, from complete beginners to college-level players. Regardless of your skill level, lessons will always be geared to you.
