About Meitong

I am an international business school student of University of Sydney, doing a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. I am a native Chinese speaker with many teaching experience, including teaching 3 Australian Chinese and 3 university students different subjects. The feedback from them are positive and I can really see their progress through my professional teaching. I am personally proficient in speaking and writing in Mandarin, and I can also communicate in English to teach students in a clear way. Besides, I master the Chinese culture so if you would like to learn more on top of the language, I can also meet your expectations.

With my way of teaching, I believe you can find it actually not hard to learn Chinese/Mandarin and will be pretty interested in the Chinese culture.

About the lesson

I have taught three students some subjects in our university as a 1v1 tutor, as well as three Australians Chinese. Those experiences provided me with proficient teaching methods, including the tailored arrangements for different subjects and courses as per the specific requirements, appropriate teaching styles for different students, and so on.

Specifically, as a private tutor teaching school subjects, I always adjusted the schedules according to the students' understanding of the knowledge to make sure they can catch up on all the key points and solve most problems by themselves eventually. Besides, I checked my students' understandings along the teaching process and answered their questions as much as possible. I also encouraged students to give me teaching feedback to make more progress for the following lessons. All of the measures I took did take effect on their final grades after the whole semester of teaching.

As a tutor teaching Chinese, I also applied the above methods and experience into the language teaching process. Except for that, the typical length for a regular language lesson is 1 hour and 0.5h for a pure speaking lesson. According to my students, all of them enjoyed their Chinese learning trip with me, and I can see their real progress in speaking, reading and listening Chinese.

My lessons suit for all age groups of people and also suit for students with various Chinese level as I will adjust my learning methods, contents and degree of difficulties based on the students with different levels in Chinese.
