About Valie
I've been singing my whole life - starting off with nursery rhymes in the bath! :)
When I was 10, I started taking vocal lessons, progressing from the ABRSM grade 1 to 5 level in the span of 2 years - focusing on operatic and classical pieces. Since then I have appeared in musical such as 'Oliver!' as the Artful Dodger (earning the Cappie award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical) and 'Grease' as Rizzo; have released music on all streaming platforms in both indie and pop genres and have experience performing with the UBC Jazz Club.
I have lots of experience teaching - mostly private tutoring or with younger children (as an art teacher at the Ottawa Art School). I have tutored languages, writing and music to both children and adults and would love to add you to my list! :)

As your vocal coach I would make sure that you have a say in what we get up to! Whether you want to learn/improve your classical, jazz or modern pop style vocals, we can come up with a lesson plan that works for your style and music taste.
Although my classes can be for a singer of any age, I have the most experience teaching ages 5-12 beginners and intermediates. However, if you're an adult that wants to get started in the singing world - this could be the perfect fit for you too!

I’ve been a student with Valie and she helped me improve with my speaking, reading, vocabulary, and writing. Through my tutoring classes with her, she tried to teach me in a way I could easily understand.
