About Christen
Hello, I am a mother to five children. However, I was a teacher first. Many of my happiest moments are watching my students grow and learn as humans. I have guided and supported many students in becoming better readers. I enjoy watching any of my struggling students make progress and develop greater confidence. I remind my students, I am here to be the voice that you hear when you feel like you can't do something! I understand when things seem hard, it is difficult to begin a task! We will work together to build the knowledge to make the difficult seem easier!

I will plan lessons specific to your needs.
I have experience as a regular classroom teacher in the seventh grade.
I have experience as a reading Interventionist for middle grades.
I am certified for grades K-8.
I also taught summer school for students who were not prepared to begin kindergarten.
I enjoy building and boosting confidence with my students.
In the last 5-8 years, I have had many students with English as a second language.
I was certified via Wilson Reading. I have also been part of national research to prove fidelity with the Wilson Reading program.
