About Johanna
I have recently graduated from studying English and French at Oxford and am a native German speaker.
Since November 2019 I have been teaching French in a London primary school and have supported students as a teaching assistant.
I have been tutoring for eight years and have experience teaching students ranging from three to sixteen years old. I have primarily taught English and German as foreign languages in France and have some experience teaching primary level numeracy and literacy while also having a good knowledge of the eleven plus exams. The students I have taught improved their grades during my tuition, and one student who I supported with English proceeded to pass the examinations for Sciences Politiques Paris, of which a significant part involves spoken English. Currently, I am supporting Year 2 students with their home learning in English and Maths.
I am happy to support students with:

- English, French and German from KS3 - A-Levels English

I take time to build a good relationship with my students and get to know their interests, which form a basis for my lesson planning. To maintain a student’s confidence, I use positive reinforcement, while giving careful explanations and allowing the student to ask questions about things they did not understand. As a visual learner, I like to use drawings and diagrams to explain complicated ideas, while also occasionally incorporating multimedia content into my lessons as a springboard for discussions and writing.
