About Henry

Hello! My name is Henry, and I am currently in the second year of my degree in Russian and Czech at the University of Oxford. Although this is a rather particular specialisation, I am a versatile teacher and offer tuition in Russian, French, English and Maths at any level from Beginner to A-Level.

Before Oxford, I got a scholarship to Eton College, where in my final year I was one of three Head Boys. At school, I gained a D1 in both Russian and French Pre-U, and an A* in Maths A-Level, having achieved 11 A*s at GCSE.

My passion is for literature, both foreign and English, and I am an experienced teacher of the techniques of reading and writing about literature. I also teach French and Russian language, as well as Maths; these subjects contain concepts that can appear complex, if not unintelligible, and I know how to explain them simply and clearly to students of a wide range of abilities.

I am also experienced in helping students with admissions to both secondary school and university. I have worked as an assistant at Eton's University Summer School, which aims to help sixth-form students with university applications, and in other roles have helped students with the writing of their personal statements and preparation for interviews. Furthermore, I have coached people with admissions to secondary schools, particularly places like Eton, where my familiarity with what the school is looking for is of obvious benefit.
