About Marisa
I have a B.Sc. Honours and M.Sc. in Physics from Memorial University of Newfoundland and I am currently working on a PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Alberta. I have experience as a private tutor and as a teaching assistant at Memorial University and I truly love helping students. I have held several research assistant positions at Memorial University and the University of Alberta, and I have experience working at a tech startup in St. John's. My love for interdisciplinary science has helped me develop strong communication skills.

I focus on what the students are struggling with and I always start by having an open conversation about what they need help with so I can design the best tutoring sessions for them. Practice problems are my biggest focus. We will spend most of our time together working through problems as I find this is the best way to solidify concepts in physics and math.
