About Awa
In the summer of 2023, I had the incredible opportunity to work at Breakthrough Houston, where I taught the Computer Science elective class to upcoming seventh, eighth, and ninth graders. I am deeply committed to creating a learning environment that not only imparts technical skills but also nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
With a solid foundation in Computer Science and a genuine passion for teaching, my primary goal is to inspire confidence in my students and empower them to explore this dynamic field. To ensure practical knowledge and a deep understanding of the subject matter, I connect each topic we discuss to real-world examples. By bridging the gap between theory and application, I equip students with the skills they need to thrive in the world outside of school.
Moreover, I take immense pride in providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for all my students. Getting to know each student on a personal level allows me to better cater to their individual needs and tailor my teaching approach accordingly. In my classroom, I highly value the perspectives and contributions of my students. I actively encourage peer learning and cooperation, fueling growth and development among my students.
