About Ailin(Alan)

Hi, I'm Ailin (Ah-lean), but you can call me Alan, the Irish version of Alan. I’m passionate about Cybersecurity, Linux, and Python programming.

Over the past 4 years, I’ve earned certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Pentest+, and eLearnSecurity Junior Pentester (eJPT).

I’ve also spent nearly 10 years mentoring at Coder Dojo, specialising in teaching older kids Python programming and Web Development. During this time, I encouraged many, especially those on the Autistic Spectrum, to pursue careers in STEM. This journey led to the realisation that I, too, am on the spectrum.

Whether you’re a beginner or looking to advance your skills, I offer practical, hands-on tutoring focusing on real-world applications. Certifications like CompTIA Security+, CySA+, and Pentest+ teach theory—but theory without practical application isn’t enough. That's why I focus on hands-on, real-world cybersecurity challenges using platforms like TryHackMe and Hack The Box. You’ll develop skills that stick through meaningful projects and step-by-step guidance.

For beginners, I cover:

Basics of network security and threat prevention (e.g., enumeration with Nmap, basic packet analysis with Wireshark)

Understanding common vulnerabilities and exploits (Metasploit usage)

Essential tools for penetration testing and defence (Burp Suite, Hydra, real-world SIEMs)

Introduction to ethical hacking and responsible security practices
