About Dominic

I have 15+ years of experience as a Piano tutor and teach school students, college students, and working professionals. I am committed to helping students build strong musical foundations while creating a comfortable and encouraging learning environment.

I believe each learner has unique abilities and learning needs. I begin by understanding their current piano experience, musical interests, goals, strengths, challenges, and preferred learning methods. I then adapt my lessons to make learning easier and more effective.

My lessons cover piano fundamentals, posture, hand position, finger coordination, scales, chords, rhythm, music theory, note reading, sight-reading, ear training, song learning, improvisation, and performance skills.

I use simple English, demonstrations, practical exercises, and familiar songs to explain new concepts. I encourage students to understand what they are playing and why they are playing it instead of relying only on memorization.

My teaching philosophy is based on communication, patience, flexibility, understanding, and encouragement. I encourage students to ask questions and share their difficulties without hesitation. I provide positive feedback and clear guidance throughout the learning process.

I also help students develop good practice habits. I teach them how to plan practice sessions, set small goals, focus on challenging areas, and review their progress.

A notable achievement in my 15+-year career is gaining experience with learners from school, college, and professional backgrounds. This has helped me develop strong communication, adaptability, and mentoring skills.

My aim is to help every student become a confident, creative, disciplined, and independent piano player. Whether you are learning as a hobby or working toward a specific musical goal, I provide personalized lessons designed around your needs.

My piano teaching methodology focuses on Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I understand that some students learn best by watching, others by listening, reading, practicing, or combining different methods.

I begin by identifying how each student learns most comfortably. I then use demonstrations, visual explanations, written notes, listening activities, repetition, and practical playing to make lessons easier to understand.

For beginners, I teach posture, hand position, finger movement, note reading, rhythm, scales, chords, and simple songs. For experienced learners, I work on sight-reading, technique, musical expression, interpretation, and performance.

I adjust my explanations when a student struggles with a particular topic. Flexibility allows me to change the lesson pace and difficulty according to individual progress rather than following a fixed schedule.

I encourage collaboration by involving students in choosing music, setting learning goals, planning practice routines, and discussing their progress. This helps students take responsibility for their musical development.

My positive approach helps learners feel comfortable during lessons. I encourage them to ask questions, make mistakes, and try again without fear of failure.

In addition to piano, I can teach music theory, keyboard skills, rhythm, chords, sight-reading, ear training, basic composition, and music appreciation. My goal is to make every lesson suitable for the learner and enjoyable.
