About Esha
My goal as a teacher is not simply to help a student solve a problem, but to help them understand the concept and build confidence in their own ability to learn.
I understand why many students, especially children, feel that Mathematics is difficult. When I was younger, I also struggled to understand Mathematics quickly. Instead of giving up, I took it as a challenge, worked through those difficulties, and eventually developed a strong understanding and specialization in Mathematics. Because of this experience, I understand how a student can think when a concept feels confusing or overwhelming.
I believe Mathematics should not be taught as something that needs to be memorized. Instead, students should understand the reasoning behind formulas, methods, and concepts. Once they understand the "why", they are much more capable of solving problems independently and remembering what they have learned.
I also like to teach Mathematics as a story. Whether I am teaching a child or a student in higher education, I believe it is important to explain where a concept came from, how it was discovered or developed, why it was needed, and how it connects to real-life situations. These connections make Mathematics more interesting, interactive, and meaningful.
My classes are therefore structured around understanding rather than memorization. I break down every topic into small, manageable steps and make sure the student is comfortable with each step before moving forward. I use examples, questions, discussions, and problem-solving to check their understanding throughout the lesson.
I adapt my teaching according to the student's level and way of thinking. If a student finds a particular concept difficult, I approach it from different angles until we find an explanation that makes sense to them. My focus is always on creating strong fundamentals first, because once the basics are clear, advanced topics become much easier to understand.
Ultimately, I want my students to reach a point where they no longer think, "I can't do Mathematics," but instead think, "I understand how to approach this." Building that confidence, curiosity, and independent way of thinking is what I consider the most important part of teaching.
