About Maricela
I am a state-certified early education teacher. I teach students in a two-way bilingual program. I am a Science/Social Studies teacher who additionally provides support in English/Language Arts and Mathematics.
I have been teaching for three years and am also working on becoming state-certified in bilingual education. I enjoy teaching emergent bilingual students as well as English proficient students learning Spanish. Watching students flourish is truly a passion of mine.

My teaching methods:
I believe learning works best when students feel comfortable, encouraged, and understood. I use patient, supportive, and structured approach, adjusting lessons to each student's learning style and pace.
For elementary students and struggling readers, I break skills down into clear, manageable steps, use repetition, visuals, and guided practice. For English Language Learners and adults, I focus on practical language use, vocabulary building, reading comprehension, and grammar explained in a simple, relatable way. I believe mistakes are a part of learning, and my goal is always to create a judgement-free space where students feel safe to try.
A typical lesson plan:
Each lesson is tailored to the student, but generally includes:
- A brief check-in and review of previous material
- A clear focus for the lesson (reading, spelling, grammar, or comprehension)
- Guided practice using examples, reading passages, or exercises
- Independent practice with support as needed
- Positive feedback and a short recap of what was learned
I move at the student's pace and make adjustments in real time to ensure understanding before moving forward.
What sets me apart is my patience and ability to meet students where they are. I understand that many learners come with self-doubt or past struggles, so I work intentionally to rebuild confidence alongside skills. I focus on steady progress, encouragement, and clear explanations, helping students feel proud of their growth. I genuinely care about my students' success and emotional comfort while learning.

I meet Maricela Amador when I was 8 years old at LaVega ISD in 3rd grade she is a very good teacher, (Now I am 11 years old) (best teacher ever) she is very patiente and loveling. I learned a lot in a school year. I recommend miss Amador as an excellent person and excellent teacher she is very fun and kind she loves butterflies.
