About Violet
I am an experienced violin tutor with 7 years of teaching and professional music experience, passionate about helping students develop technical skill, musical creativity, and self-confidence.
I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the most meaningful milestones in my career has been witnessing students transform from struggling beginners to confident performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and musical expression.
My teaching emphasises building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive playing. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide a complete musical education.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students feel encouraged to explore, experiment, and achieve their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to nurture confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music in every student.

I teach violin using a methodology based on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to develop technically proficient, expressive, and confident musicians.
Lessons are personalised to each student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, blending structured technical exercises with creative exploration, improvisation, and performance practice.
Motivation is at the heart of my teaching. I guide students to set achievable goals, monitor progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering perseverance, self-confidence, and lifelong engagement with music.
Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive, allowing students to express questions, share challenges, and explore ideas freely.
Creativity is emphasised throughout every session. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to develop their artistic voice and connect emotionally to music. Integrity reinforces disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, helping students establish long-term habits that support consistent growth and excellence.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, providing students with a well-rounded and comprehensive musical foundation.
