About Priscilla
Starting the first session, you will notice the focus is entirely on physical alignment, which feels a bit intense at first. We prioritize the mechanics of posture and hold before touching a single complex piece. I integrate music theory directly into the repertoire so you understand the architecture of your songs.
Tuning by ear becomes a standard ritual during the opening minutes of our time. Shifting positions is handled with a rigorous eye for efficiency and comfort.
Developing a rich tone production requires patience, yet we move through these technical hurdles systematically. Orchestrating your progress includes a monthly report shared with parents to keep everyone aligned. Vibrato and complex bowing styles like spiccato and staccato arrive once your foundation holds firm. You deserve a clear map of your growth, and I look forward to helping you reach that next stage of performance.

Playing violin keeps me sharp, honestly, especially after navigating the rigors of my training at Schulich. I have spent 8 years mentoring performance-focused students, returning learners, and hobbyists. My primary focus remains on posture and hold, intonation, and shifting positions.
Developing tuning by ear alongside tone production is where I spend most of my time. Students often find my approach to bowing technique quite specific. I emphasize vibrato and spiccato and staccato bowing because these define orchestral playing. Music theory acts as the skeleton for everything we construct in the room.
Teaching has become an extension of my own practice over these 8 years. I anticipate seeing how your unique musical voice develops during our time together.
