• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  I developed a passion for law during my undergraduate studies, captivated by how laws shape corporate behavior and investment practices. This interest deepened during my postgraduate degree, coupled with hands-on experience in the corporate sector. About four years ago, I began private tutoring to share my knowledge and help others understand the complexities of law. Watching students master challenging concepts has been incredibly rewarding.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I specialize in Corporate Law, Investment Law, Corporate Governance Law, and Business Law. I enjoy exploring the practical applications of these areas, such as the impact of corporate governance on business operations and the importance of sustainability reporting. Real-world examples are key to helping students see the relevance of their studies. While I find most topics engaging, the repetitive nature of basic legal definitions is less exciting, though necessary for building a solid foundation.

• Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  Absolutely. During my postgraduate studies, I had an exceptional professor who had a deep knowledge of international business law and a genuine passion for teaching. His ability to make complex legal concepts accessible and interestinginspired me to pursue a career in academia and tutoring.

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  A good tutor should be patient, approachable, and well-versed in their subject. They need to explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner and adapt to different learning styles. Strong communication skills and a passion for the subject are essential to inspire and motivate students.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  During my postgraduate studies, I was part of a challenging group project analyzing a real merger case. Initially, our team struggled to apply theoretical concepts to practical scenarios. However, through collaboration and persistence, we not onlycompleted the project successfully but also earned high praise from our professor for our thorough analysis. This experience highlighted the importance of perseverance and teamwork, lessons I always share with my students.

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still face in your subject?

  One major challenge in corporate law is keeping up with the constantly evolving regulations and practices, which demands continuous learning and adaptability. Another challenge is making abstract legal principles relatable to students who may lack practical experience. To overcome this, I use real-world examples and case studies in my lessons.

• Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  I am particularly passionate about the intersection of law and business, especially how legal frameworks can promote corporate responsibility and sustainability. Additionally, I have a strong passion for teaching and mentoring. I believe education is a powerful tool for personal and professional growth, and I find great satisfaction in helping students achieve their goals.
