Teaching Approach and Methods I focus on building a strong foundation in both sketching and colour through step-by-step guidance and tailored feedback. My methods combine structured demonstrations with individual practice, encouraging observation, proportion, and composition skills. I emphasise sketching (geometry, still life, portrait, half-figure) and colour (gouache still life, landscape, watercolour still life, landscape), ensuring students gain both technical accuracy and creative expression. Lesson Structure A typical lesson lasts 1.5–2 hours, beginning with a short theory or demonstration, followed by guided practice and individual critique. For intensive exam preparation, I also provide extended sessions focusing on test-oriented skills. Qualifications and Experience Studied Fine Arts for 8 years. BA in Visual Communication Design (Hainan University). MSc in Integrated Product Design (Merit, Brunel University London). PhD candidate in Design, Manufacturing and Engineering Management, University of Strathclyde. 5 years’ teaching experience** during part-time work and summer/winter courses, from interest-based classes to high-intensity exam training. Target Students I teach a wide range of learners: Primary school students in interest classes. Middle and high school students developing skills. Gaokao candidates** preparing for Fine Arts entrance exams.
