About Mark
I have 17 years of experience as a software developer working with Python, C++, Java, and C#, as well as general computer programming techniques. I have worked with companies to help complete projects, and with individuals helping them learn to solve problems. I have experience running my own business starting from around 2002 and am eager to pass on some of what I know to people looking to get into computer programming.

I do want to make it known that I take my job very seriously and hold myself to a high standard. Without working under a direct employer anymore I strongly welcome well-thought out feedback on anything my students or their parents think I did great or could improve on. Also, with tutoring being such versatile work I do have a cancellation policy that will result in a charged session for no–call-no-shows without a 24-hour notice. I realize this isn’t always possible so I am willing to drop that cancellation charge a certain amount if I have even a two or three hour notice. However I try to be as fair as possible and understand emergencies do happen. I have never had any problems with multiple no-call-no-shows or late arrivals so this is not something I put much time into worrying over. I do group rates which are negotiated on based on the subject matter, travel time, and amount of students. As I’m looking for long term students I also give lower hourly rates the more frequently a student receives tutoring from me. As a way to see if I make a good fit for the student I offer the first lesson completely free of charge if I don't meet my student's needs.
During my academic years I provided instruction and one-on-one tutoring as a group discussion leader, graduate teaching assistant, computer center user consultant, at private computer companies, and with individual students, beginning as an undergraduate.
