About Elsa
With a PhD in Computer Science and four years of teaching experience, I’m passionate about helping students develop strong programming and problem-solving skills. My goal is to provide students with a solid foundation in computer science that equips them to tackle real-world challenges. I teach by blending theoretical concepts with practical applications, ensuring that students not only understand the material but can also apply it. I guide students through assignments, projects, and exams, helping them improve both their coding proficiency and analytical thinking. My teaching style emphasizes active learning, where students apply their knowledge through hands-on practice, coding challenges, and collaborative projects. I’m dedicated to making complex concepts accessible, ensuring that students develop the skills they need to succeed in the rapidly evolving field of computer science. Having taught students from various backgrounds, I adapt my approach to suit the needs of each individual. Whether a student is new to computer science or looking to refine their skills, I aim to create an engaging and supportive learning environment where they can thrive.

In the computer science course, we start with an introduction to core concepts like algorithms, data structures, and software development principles. Students gain a foundational understanding of how computers work, how to design algorithms, and how data is structured and processed. By the end of the course, students will be able to write efficient code and solve problems using data structures like arrays, linked lists, and trees.
As the course progresses, we dive deeper into topics such as object-oriented programming (OOP), operating systems, and databases. Students learn how to manage memory, handle files, and build simple databases to store and retrieve data. We also cover essential concepts in software engineering, including testing, debugging, and version control using Git.
Throughout the course, students are encouraged to work on hands-on projects, coding challenges, and collaborative exercises to solidify their understanding. By the end, they’ll have developed the problem-solving and programming skills necessary to tackle more advanced topics and real-world software development challenges.
