Research Projects
7. Event generator for DEMP at SoLID
I wrote the event generator of electroproduction of charged pion at SoLID. This event generator is
written for Q2 up to 10 GeV 2 , -t up to 1.2 GeV 2 and W up to 3.4 GeV . Now I am working on a
paper to publish it.
6. GEANT4 simulations of DEMP at SoLID
Exclusive process requires to know all the nal state particles. So either we detect all three particles
or detect two particles with good enough resolution to uniquely reconstruct the missing mass and
missing momentum. With the help of my event generator and using GEANT4 we are simulating
the missing momentum. We are also studying the acceptance using GEANT4.
5. Developing the prototype heavy gas Cerenkov detector for SoLID
The University of Regina group has successfully installed and commissioned the heavy gas Cerenkov
detector of SHMS at Hall C of Je erson Lab. Now are are working on the development of the proto-
type heavy gas Cerenkov (HGC) detector. The HGC will help to identify both positive and negative
pions with momentum from 2.5 to 7.5 GeV/c, angular range of 8 to 14:8 and kaon rejection rate
more than 99%. I am cosupervising the student who is working on this project.
4. Code writing of new C++ based Hall C Analyzer (hcana)
Hall C Analyzer (hcana) is the new C++ based program to reconstruct the experimental data. I
wrote a new class of this analyzer to analyze Cerenkov detector's data. I wrote down the code for
tracking eciency and contributed to code of hodoscope class.
The Old analyzer (ENGINE) of Hall C was written in Fortran. My initial phase of code writing
of hcana was to translate the Fortran code to C++. At this point, I did a very detailed compari-
son of tracking between old and new analyzers and presented my results in Hall C analysis meetings.
3. Initial work of DEMP at JLab-EIC
I am using a modi ed version of DEMP-SoLID event generator for initial study of Meson elec-
troproduction at a future Electron-Ion Collider. With electroproduction of pions at the collider
we can measure the Pion form factor at high Q2, and extend our SoLID single spin asymmetry
measurements.
2. Proposal for TRIUMF (PPAC)
University of Regina and University of Manitoba are working together on a proposal to TRIUMF
for detector contributions to a future Electron-Ion Collider. I am among the principal collaborators.
1. Data analysis for A2 Collaboration (Completed)
Analyzed the data for MAMI (Mainz Microtron - Germany) A2 Collaboration to check if tagger
magnet can be used as Moller polarimeter.
