About Ella
I have taught and studied in educational sector for five years, and I am currently lecturing at University College London where I completing my PhD in Critical Heritage Studies. I consider myself somewhat of a success story, considering I had no idea what a PhD was when I was 16, and now I have such a love for learning and teaching! I am an active campaigner for equal resources to learning, and because of this, I truly believe that my experience at school has made me a compassionate and understanding tutor. Although I have always loved art, I am extremely engaged in modern politics and literature, and I am very rarely found without a book in my hand!

My approach to teaching is tailored to each student. I am a friendly, understanding, and patient person, and more importantly, I understand the difficulties and stresses of school life.
I use a more holistic and organic way of teaching, which ensures that each student fully comprehends information, instead of memorising it for an exam. Typically, I would suggest hour long sessions for GCSE subjects, and 1h30 for A Level, as this gives us time to go through questions and answers in past papers as well.
As someone who initially struggled in school, I have proven that with hard work and dedication, top marks can be achieved with the right approach! I believe that all learning should involve active engagement, and all teaching should be made engaging and fun.
