About Ethan
I'm a PhD student in English at the University of Toronto, where I work as a teaching assistant and research assistant. My own research focuses on early modern, modernist, and contemporary literature.
I earned my MA in English from U of T in 2024, and my BA (Honours First Class with Distinction) from Simon Fraser University in 2022.
I have also worked for 9 years as an academic tutor for private companies and university writing centres. I have worked with students from middle school to graduate school, focusing on English writing, reading comprehension, literary analysis, and forms and genres of academic writing. I hold "Master Tutor" certification from the College Reading and Learning Association.
I'm an avid reader and writer, and I'm always excited to learn about what students are working on in various subjects.

With 8 years of tutoring experience and several degrees in literature, I can provide bespoke guidance to help you build confidence and autonomy as a reader and writer, do better in courses, and write more clearly for any audience.
