About Jobie

I am a Master's student in Philosophy studying at the University of Bristol. I graduated my Bachelor's here with a 2:1 and an excellent understanding of the marking process that is used to grade students, as well as the most important philosophical ideas that everyone will cover. Not just what the ideas are, but a deeper understanding of why they are discussed in the first place.

I engaged thoroughly in extra-curricular Philosophy during my time here: Q&As with guest-speakers, discussions at staff seminars and alumni conferences. These made sure that my understanding is on track with senior lecturers and faculty members.

About the lesson

My teaching is designed to be friendly and non-intimidating. I won't be hard on you for making mistakes, just tell me what you're struggling with and I'll explain it in a way that makes sense to you. I focus on building a connection with my students so that learning feels like a conversation rather than a lecture.

I'll make use of videos, images, comparisons, stories and descriptions so that we can focus on learning however suits you best. I have tutored my friends and coursemates informally throughout all three years of my undergraduate degree, and I aim my lessons at A-level students and undergraduates.
