About April
I have been teaching piano for 11 years and hold a PhD in Piano Pedagogy. Throughout my career, I have worked with students of different ages and abilities, helping them develop strong musical foundations and lasting confidence. Teaching piano is both my profession and my passion.
I enjoy creating lessons that balance discipline with creativity. Students learn important technical skills while also exploring musical expression, collaboration, and performance confidence. I believe every learner benefits from a supportive environment where progress is celebrated.
One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is watching students grow into independent musicians. I strive to make lessons encouraging, engaging, and meaningful for every learner. Together, we can build strong piano skills and a lifelong appreciation for music.

My piano lessons are designed to help students build strong musical skills while enjoying the learning process. We work on reading fluency, hand coordination, rhythm accuracy, finger control, dynamics, and musical interpretation through structured and engaging activities. Lessons focus on developing confidence from the first session.
I use a variety of exercises, listening activities, and performance practice to support steady improvement. Students learn how to understand music, apply technique effectively, and express themselves through the piano. Every lesson encourages both technical growth and artistic development.
Learning plans are adapted to suit each student’s experience level and goals. Whether focusing on performance, personal enjoyment, or musical development, students receive clear guidance and supportive feedback. My goal is to help learners become skilled, confident, and expressive pianists.
