About Demi
I bring 11 years of experience teaching piano to students of different ages, abilities, and musical interests. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, which gave me a strong technical foundation and extensive exposure to solo and collaborative repertoire. This background supports my clear, structured teaching style.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes calm progression, realistic goals, and positive reinforcement. I believe students thrive when they understand the purpose behind their practice and feel encouraged throughout their journey. I work closely with learners to build healthy habits and confidence over time.
Outside of teaching, I remain actively involved in performance, accompaniment, and continued musical study. These experiences continually shape my lessons. Teaching piano is meaningful to me because I see students grow into confident musicians who trust their skills and express themselves freely through music.

My piano lessons focus on helping students build strong technical skills while developing musical awareness and expressive confidence. I guide learners through posture alignment, hand coordination, finger independence, rhythmic stability, sight-reading, and tonal control. Lessons emphasize understanding how physical movement influences sound, allowing students to play with greater ease and consistency. I use structured exercises, repertoire study, and listening-based activities to reinforce learning.
Lessons are carefully tailored to each learner’s experience level. Beginners focus on basic hand position, reading fluency, rhythm accuracy, and simple coordination. Intermediate learners develop smoother technique, dynamic control, expressive phrasing, and stronger two-hand independence. Advanced learners refine tone color, stylistic interpretation, performance preparation, and musical consistency under pressure. Each lesson includes guided practice strategies that students can apply independently.
Piano study also supports focus, patience, and emotional expression. As learners gain control and understanding, they become more confident and self-directed. My goal is to help students enjoy the process of learning while developing a lasting, meaningful relationship with the piano and music itself.
