About William
Piano teaching has been my profession for 7 years. I hold a Bachelor of Music, and my studies covered performance, theory and pedagogy in equal measure. That mix shows in my lessons, where playing and understanding grow side by side.
I am organized by nature, and my students benefit from it. Each has a progress folder, and we can look back together at what they played a year ago. One adult student laughed when she saw her first wobbly recording compared with her current playing.
I have prepared students for music school auditions, graded exams and school concerts. My proudest moments are the quiet ones, like when a student finally hears the difference their practice has made. I teach children, teenagers and adults with equal enthusiasm.
I keep a few slots open each term for new students. If you want a structured path and a teacher who tracks your progress properly, I would be glad to help. Message me and tell me where you would like your playing to go.

Two hands doing different jobs is the great challenge of piano. I teach coordination through short hands separate work followed by slow combined practice. Students learn to be patient with the process, and the results come steadily.
Theory is not a separate subject in my lessons. When a student learns a piece, we pull apart its chords, key and structure right away. Understanding the music makes memorizing faster and playing more secure.
Several of my students aim for entry into music schools, so preparation is thorough. We build a varied repertoire list, polish two contrasting pieces and rehearse interview questions. One of my students was accepted this spring after eighteen months of steady work together.
I keep the mood focused but kind. Mistakes are treated as information, never failure. Students learn to practice the right way, which matters more than practicing for hours.
