About Christine
My goal with every student is not to help them do their homework, but to help them understand what is being taught & how to build upon what is being learnt.
Being able to help students excel academically is something I treasure because succeeding in school builds a students confidence to achieve greatness outside of school. This worked for me when I struggled in school. Prior to high school, I struggled with undiagnosed dyslexia which prevented me from being able to read. By the time I got to high school, after years of tutoring, I was able to read fluently. My skills in mathematics also improved. As I excelled in high school & college, it gave me the confidence to pursue my dream of getting into nursing school.
I hope to provide children with the same academic confidence so that they may grow the confidence to achieve their dreams.

I have experience tutoring students between k-12 in mathematics & sciences (biology, chemistry, organic chemistry). My past students tend to excel in subjects I help them with because I simply every question; explaining how I go to the answer & why it is found in a specific way. I find that simplifying the way to get to the answer is the best way for students to learn. After I explain, I allow students to show me how they determine the answer. Along the way I make corrections, realigning students on the proper course of finding the right answer.
As someone who used to struggle in school, my past experience allows me to make connections with my students, giving them hope that their academic struggles are only temporary.
