About Jimi
I am a dedicated Latin student with eight years of experience studying the language. I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Latin and am currently predicted an A* at A Level. Through years of studying Latin, I have developed a strong understanding of grammar, translation, vocabulary, and the exam skills needed to achieve top grades.
Although I am at the beginning of my tutoring journey, I take my responsibilities seriously and prepare every lesson carefully to suit each student's individual needs. I am patient, reliable, and committed to helping students build both confidence and understanding. Having completed these exams myself, I understand the challenges students face and can explain difficult concepts in a clear and approachable way.
My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving at their own pace. I offer friendly, supportive Latin lessons tailored to each student's needs. Having studied Latin for eight years, achieved a Grade 9 at GCSE, and currently being predicted an A* at A Level, I understand both the language itself and the exam techniques needed to succeed. Because I have studied the current curriculum recently, I can explain difficult grammar, vocabulary, and translation skills in a way that is clear and relatable.
My teaching style is patient and interactive. I begin by identifying the areas a student finds most challenging, then adapt each lesson to focus on those topics. Lessons may include grammar explanations, translation practice, vocabulary revision, literature support (where applicable), and guided exam questions with feedback. I also share revision strategies and tips that helped me achieve strong results.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on the student's goals. I encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson and aim to create a relaxed environment where they feel comfortable making mistakes and building confidence.
My lessons are ideal for GCSE Latin students, younger students beginning to learn Latin, or anyone looking for extra support with the language.
