About Katharine
Hi there! My name is Katharine Allison, I am a Primary Education specialist with a passion for teaching and a love for seeing children thrive. I believe that every child has unique potential, and I’m dedicated to helping them discover it. There’s nothing more rewarding than witnessing a child’s confidence grow as they make progress and gain new skills. Outside of teaching, I’m an avid reader and a huge fan of badminton. I love getting lost in a good book, whether it’s fiction or non-fiction, and I enjoy staying active with badminton — it’s a great way to keep my mind and body engaged! My motivation to teach comes from a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young learners. I’m driven by the belief that education is not just about academic success, but about helping children develop a lifelong love for learning. I love being part of a child’s journey as they overcome challenges, discover their strengths, and grow into confident individuals. Teaching isn’t just a job for me — it’s a calling, and I’m excited to help your child reach their full potential!

I’m a fully trained Primary Education specialist with a strong background in teaching all primary subjects across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. My training and classroom experience have equipped me to deliver engaging, tailored lessons that support each child’s unique learning journey. I have a particular passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and I have worked extensively in this area to ensure all learners can thrive with the right strategies and support in place. My approach is inclusive, patient, and always focused on building confidence as well as academic progress. In addition to my SEND expertise, I’ve also been actively involved in leading and delivering targeted "catch-up" interventions — designed to accelerate progress and close learning gaps, especially in the wake of disrupted education. I’ve seen first-hand the impact that well-structured, individualised sessions can have on helping children regain confidence and meet their full potential. Whether your child needs help building foundational skills, catching up in a specific subject, or just a little extra support to stay on track, I’m here to help with friendly, flexible, and effective online tutoring.
