About Ariyan
Hi, I’m Ariyan. I’m a passionate and approachable tutor who believes that with the right support and strategy, every student can thrive—even in subjects that feel intimidating at first. I bring a calm, structured approach to tutoring that helps students feel at ease, ask questions openly, and steadily build their mastery. My tutoring is rooted in patience, encouragement, and a genuine commitment to seeing my students succeed. With a degree from Princeton University in Electrical and Computer Engineering, I’ve learned how to work through complex problems by breaking them into simple, manageable parts—a skill I now bring into every tutoring session. My academic and teaching experience have taught me how to adapt explanations for different learners, and I’m especially proud of my ability to connect with students who may feel discouraged or overwhelmed. As a tutor, I take a focused and efficient approach to help students strengthen their understanding and build lasting confidence in subjects like math, physics, coding, and test prep. My goal is to meet each student where they are and tailor my instruction to fit their learning style, pace, and academic goals. I focus heavily on identifying specific weak areas, then guiding students through a mix of brief concept explanations and hands-on practice problems to help them internalize key ideas and apply them independently.
A typical lesson starts with a short check-in on the student’s current understanding of the topic, followed by a concise explanation or mini-lecture. We then work through a series of example problems together, increasing in complexity. I ask lots of questions throughout to encourage active thinking, and I give strategic tips that help students recognize patterns and common pitfalls. After each session, I often recommend online resources and extra problems so students can continue improving on their own time.
What sets me apart is my experience as a teaching assistant for two undergraduate Princeton courses, where I regularly helped groups of 20–25 students during office hours. I supported students as they learned to program in MATLAB and Python, debugged complex code, and broke down challenging engineering topics like signal processing. I also bring strong academic credentials to the table, including a 1590 SAT, 34 ACT, and 5s on over 10 AP exams, which help me guide students through test prep with a proven strategy.
My lessons are ideal for middle school, high school, and early college students looking to improve their performance in STEM subjects, prepare for standardized exams, or build a strong foundation in coding and engineering thinking.
