About Derek

I am a private tutor that has been teaching and tutoring all subjects of math and science for 7 years. I like to think of myself as a personal trainer of academics. I graduated with a degree in 2013 from the University of California Berkeley, but I am going back to school right now at the University of Oregon. I hope to teach you that math and science can be fun, or at least to take the stress away from learning the subjects.

About the lesson

I tend to try to make everything I teach relatable to the real world, for I know that students ask "when is this going to be useful.” My goal is to get the student to a point where he/she/they will no longer need me.

The mentoring and life skills I provide are the most fun part of the tutoring for me.

With moch-tests, homework help, and general advising I become your coach on your way to academic success.
