About Roger
Starting at the age of nine, I began studying with Walter Rosenberger, then the lead percussionist of the New York Philharmonic. My studies continued with a local New Jersey session drummer, Ralph Bibeau, followed by Stony Brook University/Music and William Paterson University under Ray DeRouches. Since then, I have been teaching, recording and performing live with numerous bands in the tri-state area for over 40 years. More recently launched and ran the drum program at River Rock Music School in Ardsley, NY. During the Summer I run the bucket drumming activities for the Next Level Boys and Girls Day Camps in New Rochelle, NY and Saddle River, NJ. I teach year-round at the famous Lagond Music Studios in Elmsford, NY, as well as provide private lessons in-person and online. I teach students of all ages from 8 to 80. Age really doesn’t matter as long as you can hold a pair of drumsticks and count to four! Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player, there is always something new to learn and together we’ll explore all aspects of how to get the best out of playing and make our lesson the one time each week that you most look forward to.

With my proven method, you will learn how to play the drums quickly, with more precision, and you will experience the same fun that professional musicians have every time they play.
We'll start with the required basics: holding the sticks, hitting the drums and cymbals correctly, hand and foot coordination, and learning the five basic drum beats used in thousands of songs.
You'll learn how to play along to different songs using these beats and then layer in the drum fills.
Every lesson is a fully submersive, deep dive into playing with a truly rewarding feeling of accomplishment.

I provide package discounts based on the quantity you select. A five lesson pack gets 5% off, a ten lesson pack gets 10% off. I also offer annual memberships (50 lesson pack) for $4800.
All students become members of the Rock'n Drums Club. This includes private lessons in-person and/or online, VOD lessons, interactive drum patterns to play along to, access to our library of over 6000 drumless tracks, and invitations to our private masterclass sessions with famous pro drummers.
