About Elodie
I am a professional chess tutor with 20 years of teaching experience helping high school and college students develop strong strategic thinking. Over the years I have successfully taught around 150 students and guided them to improve their chess skills with confidence.
My teaching philosophy focuses on understanding the logic behind every move. I believe chess is not only a game but also a way to develop patience, concentration, and decision making skills. I guide students step by step so they can clearly understand openings, middle game strategies, endgame techniques, and tactical patterns.
I create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. My lessons include puzzles, game analysis, and practical strategies that help students think several moves ahead.
Many of my students have improved their competitive play and gained confidence in tournaments and school competitions. My goal is to help every student become a thoughtful and disciplined chess player while enjoying the learning process.

My teaching approach in chess focuses on building strong thinking skills, strategy, and confidence in every student. I teach players from beginner to advanced levels and adapt lessons based on each student’s pace and learning style. Flexibility is important in my sessions, so I adjust methods to match the student’s goals and strengths.
I focus on core chess concepts such as openings, middle game planning, endgame techniques, tactical patterns, positional play, and game analysis. Students also learn time management, tournament preparation, and strategic decision making. To broaden strategic thinking, I sometimes include related strategy games like draughts, backgammon, Risk, and Settlers of Catan.
My teaching style is based on understanding, positivity, and integrity. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. I encourage logical thinking, patience, and discipline during practice. Each lesson includes puzzles, real game examples, and guided analysis so students clearly understand their progress and improve step by step.
