About Michael
I am a professional guitarist and educator with a background in many different styles including rock, jazz, classical, folk, blues, country, and many more types of music. I have a degree in music and RCM credentials, a passion for music, and an equal passion for music education! My students have won competitions, passed auditions for prestigious schools, and gone on to have performance careers in music. I've worked with groups and individuals of all ages and skill levels, in many different formats including in-person, online, in-home, and in post-secondary settings, and have performed with many Canadian and international artists and bands, as well as writing and performing my own music.

I work with each individual student to provide an education based around the individual. Everyone's goals are different, especially with music, and I focus on yours. A typical class would begin with some warm-ups and a review of previous material to ensure constant improvement, moving into new ideas afterward and making sure to jam and have some fun! No matter how much time there is in your life for music, it can be accommodated and your goals can be reached with a lesson structure tailored to your specific goals and dreams! The first class is offered free as a 30 min assessment class to lay out your goals, after that either half-hour or hour classes are available.

Perfect! I had my first in person guitar lesson from Michael today and it was amazing! I'm a pretty fussy person and was looking for a detail-oriented guitar teacher that would cater towards my learning goals. Michael did that, but he also made sure it was fun and interesting. He cares about teaching, is completely reliable and has excellent communication skills. Would definitely recommend him !
Perfect! Michael is an excellent guitar teacher to our 8 year old son, he is punctual, reliable and always gives us written feedback after every lesson. Noah really enjoys learning from Michael and looks forward to his lessons. We highly recommend him.
