About Amy
I am a professional music producer, recording engineer, mix engineer, session musician and music production tutor having worked across some of the UK's leading studios, including Abbey Road, RAK, Metropolis, Ten87, Rudimental (the band), and for mix engineer David Wrench.
Alongside my studio work, I teach music production at an online music school, helping students develop practical industry skills in recording, production, mixing, songwriting and audio engineering.
I hold a Master's Degree in Record Production with Distinction and a First Class BA (Hons) in Performance & Recording. I have six years of specialist music education from college through postgraduate level, achieving Distinction grades throughout. My professional experience covers all aspects of music creation, including recording, engineering, producing, mixing, vocal production, songwriting, arrangement, performance, microphone techniques, troubleshooting, signal flow, analogue and digital equipment, Dolby Atmos, and professional studio ettiquette. I have extensive experience working with industry-standard equipment, including Neve and SSL consoles, high-end microphones and outboard gear. I am proficient using Pro Tools and Logic Pro X.
Alongside engineering, I am also a professional session pianist, bassist and singer, performing and recording for artists across a variety of genres. My session work has taken me to venues across Europe, including London's Eventim Apollo and Paris' L'Olympia, and I have recorded at studios including Abbey Road and Angel Studios.
As a musician, I am classically trained in piano (Grade 7 Distinction), hold Grade 5 Music Theory with Distinction, and have spent many years writing and producing original music. I have written hundreds of songs across different genres including pop, folk, R&B, soul, jazz, indie, hip hop, drum and bass, rock, giving me a strong understanding of both the creative and technical sides of music.
Whether you want to learn music production, mixing, recording, engineering, songwriting, music theory, piano, vocals, or how to build a professional workflow, I tailor lessons to your goals and experience level. My aim is to help students develop practical skills, creative confidence and a deeper understanding of how to make professional records.

My lessons are tailored to your individual needs, interests and experience level. At the beginning of our lessons, we will discuss your long-term goals and break them down into achievable short-term objectives, creating a clear path for your development. Whether your goal is broad, eg. becoming a better producer or highly specific eg. understanding compression, I will help you identify the techniques and knowledge needed to reach your goals.
A typical lesson lasts around an hour and can be focused on either practical project work or developing a deeper understanding of specific concepts. We might work directly on your own music, analyse professional productions, solve technical issues, improve your recording techniques, develop your songwriting, or explore mixing and production methods used in professional studios.
I can show you how and why techniques are applied in real-world professional environments. I aim to explain not only what to do, but why it works, helping you develop the confidence and critical listening skills needed to make your own creative decisions.
I teach students of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to university students. Lessons are suitable whether you are learning as a hobby, studying for qualifications, creating your own music, or working towards a professional career in the music industry.

Perfect! I have learned so much in my classes with Amy, she is such an excellent teacher!
There are so many subjects she knows about, from the basics to professional music composition, and she was always willing to explain anything I wanted to know. She has a lot of patience when she teaches and she approaches any subject with fun and enthusiasm.
She also creates an interesting, enriching and supportive learning environment in her sessions.
As a student, I felt encouraged to learn and try out new things, and also felt supported in doing so and gained valuable feedback from her.
I'm sure she has a bright future ahead of her, both as a teacher and as a gifted producer. I highly recommend studying with her and learning from her extensive experience and knowledge.- I have thoroughly enjoyed these lessons. She has always been welcoming, attentive and engaged. Her passion about music and growing her abilities is very clear. She is a good, attentive listener but also asks great questions and doesn't hesitate to clarify anything. Her current knowledge about music creation showed a lot of areas of growth from the ground up and a lot of ability to work on her technical skills to a high standard. She is very capable and I have no doubt she can learn everything from the basics all the way through to professional music creation. She has always showed a lot of promise and is a great student.Amy's response :
