About Ivy
I’m a passionate computer programming tutor with over 7 years of experience helping students build strong foundations in coding and computational thinking. I hold a solid background in computer science and specialize in working with middle school students who are just beginning their programming journey. My goal is to make coding approachable, engaging, and fun from the very start. I introduce core concepts like variables, loops, and conditionals through interactive lessons and relatable examples.
In my sessions, I often use simple projects such as creating basic games, animations, or small apps to bring ideas to life. I believe students learn best by doing. That’s why I encourage hands-on coding exercises and guided problem-solving activities. My teaching approach to computer programming is relaxed, practical, and focused on real-world applications. I believe students learn best when they see how coding connects to things they use every day. That’s why I include examples from current technologies like apps, automation, artificial intelligence, and software development. I cover not only core programming concepts, but also related areas such as web development, data science, cybersecurity, and software engineering.
