I have known Cameron for more than ten years. I first met Cameron while he was a student musician and then later on as a performer. It was remarkable to watch his growth in his chosen art form and as a person.

He is intelligent, insightful, and thoughtful. He strives to be the best at whatever he takes on, whether in music or his life. He has a strong and abiding interest in people and the people he knows are all the better for it.

While he was performing in local venues, I would often hear and see other performers look for his input in what I could only assume, was his offering knowledge or guidance. While I have no formal education in music, I fall in the category of “knowing what I like”; Cameron was always willing to offer me answers to the questions I did have, and usually followed up with suggestions of particular artists or music that could provide me more examples.

Cameron’s demeanor and personality make him eminently approachable and his willingness to share, and to learn, are just some of the solid attributes he possesses. I distinctly recall an incident in which a band member, a fine drummer in his own right, was sitting on a stool during a break, listening to a piece on a headset and later discussing the nuance with Cameron and extending his thanks while handing him back the device. When we lived closer and I could follow him more, younger musicians on their own paths repeatedly sought out his help, which he willingly provided.
