About PATRICIA
Whether you are an early enthusiast or more advanced on the clinical field, these lessons will focus on providing a catered and helpful experience to delve into the fascinating topics of psychology.
I have teaching experience in the area of psychology for high school students (Instituto Andes de Caracas), undergraduate level (Personality Psychology of the Andrés Bello Catholic University, Caracas) and diplomat (Diploma in Alterations of Child and Youth Development of Monteávila University, Caracas). Additionally I have trained and supervised colleagues in the clinical area (full cognitive, socio-emotional or projective, socio-adaptive batteries for children, adolescents or adults; individual psychotherapy; triage; family therapy). Fluent in both Spanish and English, I can help you get started on psychology history, main theories, understand the basis of human behavior and the complexities of mental processes, psychopathology and therapy.

My teaching style is dialectical and personal, based on the reflective conversation of the contents. I generally use audiovisual resources as support material, including a record of references that will be reviewed according to the level of education and the objectives that are set with each student. Classes will always be enriched with my clinical and own life experience to illustrate the concepts. This experience includes working with children, adolescents with or without neurodevelopmental disorders (eg. ADHD, ASD, cognitive disabilities, language disorders, learning difficulties), adult and family psychotherapy, emotional or personality disorders (eg. depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD), and clinical-community interventions for vulnerable populations (eg. poverty contexts, multiproblematic families, children or institutionalized adolescents). If you are looking for a critical and reflective space to consider psychology as a career, to complement your education or to address more complex clinical challenges - or something in between - this space is for you!
